Moved onto Sleepless in Seattle and…I don’t know how I feel on this one. A real curious premise, and Hanks/Ryan were both great as their characters, and I like the idea of a romcom where the leads only really meet at the end, but…the stuff around Jonah initiating all this took out some of the teeth

Like my initial worry was he’d be this engine of childhood innocence, just spurring everything on as an eight year old wanting a new mom, but then he turned out more enjoyably precocious in act 2…but then every interaction between Sam and Annie in Act 3 was dragged there by him and it’s just. Not charming. Not really romantic to have the union between the leads not forged by their own agency and chemistry, or by romantic ~threads of fate~, but by the lead’s son just not liking his new paramour
